Tucson , all the way. I've been here for a couple years, with the exception of last summer, and I can't adequately express to you you how blown up it is on here compared to reality.

I'm actually in Flagstaff since last night. I'm just going to stay here until things I've ordered come in, then I'm gone. GONE!!!

Dallas & Houston--dirty, poor air quality, high crime, lots of ghetto areas, lack of emphasis on fitness/nutrition, no one cares about nature, too many religious zealots, lots of covert racism, bad roads, arguably the worst weather in the country (humidity/tornadoes/hail storms/ice storms/hurricanes), incredibly backwards areas nearby, uninspiring topography.

How do you figure? The apartment in Friends would cost multiple millions to actually live in, yet they apparently can support it on a barista's and chef's income.

City Data has a massive hard on for NYC. Also I've noticed Charleston gets talked up to on these boards (mostly CVC) but I just don't get the appeal.

^ I'm totally fine with people complementing NYC because it's a great city. BUT when it is literally shoved down your throat 24/7 it gets to be one of the most annoying things I've ever seen. Not to mention every NYC vs. *insert random city* thread someone brings up how New York is the best and the other city is a joke farm town or some other ignorant insult. It's like a cockroach infestation, so easy to let trash talkers in but so hard to get them out.

New York City is nice to visit. But it is simply beyond the affordability of most people to live, especially in the desirable areas. Unless you're a multi-millionaire, you can forget about raising a family there. The economics just doesn't make sense.

It will always be America's showcase city though.

SF is only seen as bad because it is criminally over priced and its infrastructure neglected.

LA is my vote. The city is filthy, has a third world culture only out done by Miami, and a pathetic downtown with under utilized and under developed rail transit.

Hence why it is out classed by cities that are a fraction of it's size.
