Out of these states with rather light populations, which one would you rather live in?

Which state is the best for....

-jobs/economy
-housing/cost of living
-weather
-scenery
-transportation
-friendliness
-crime
-recreation

None of them are really all that appealing to me. I do find some of them quite interesting though (the Dakotas, Montana & Wyoming), which isn't enough for me to want to live there.

Alaska would probably be the most appealing & interesting to me, but it has perhaps the biggest single downside for me - the male to female ratio. Plus the weather conditions & the weird darkness / light. I imagine everything would be more expensive as well, like with Hawaii.

ABQ & SLC would probably be okay long term. Las Vegas a step down long term. Lincoln / Omaha another step down. Out of the biggest cities from these states, I am least familiar with Boise.

Only one, maybe two, of those has a "city" in the traditional sense of the word.

SLC is relatively urban, and set in a beautiful mountain range. Commuter rail takes you almost anywhere in the CSA and light rail in unmatched for a metro its size in the US. Has great museums and an abundance of them. Large Universities and some pro sports.

Utah no doubt.

Easily Idaho. Not a fan of the dry SW (UT, NM) or the Midwest, and Montana and Wyoming are nice to visit.
Idaho and Alaska have the best scenery of the states listed imo.
