And there are four casinos coming to NY State just north of NYC, as well as future casino expansion within the city proper and metro area itself. And on the NJ side, casinos are eventually coming to the Meadowlands.

So the problem for AC is what is the market if NYC and Philly are both saturated with casinos? It will have to be an East Coast version of Vegas, with some real drawing power, or it will fail.

Atlantic City is the east coast version of Vegas. It's the next largest concentration of Casinos outside of Vegas, now tied with Biloxi actually.

Are the casinos in Biloxi as large as the ones in Vegas and AC (well a few are Vegas size)?

Ok, but I mean the REAL east coast version of Vegas. In other words, a big-time draw, even if you have casinos in your hometown.

AC right now is something of a draw, but the casinos aren't really better than the other ones in the region, so why go? Beaches are everywhere in the region, the rest of the city is kind of run-down, and there's not much else.

the casinos in AC are actually more like Vegas casinos then are any others - even similar night clubs etc.

I don't think AC casinos are better than Foxwoods or Mohegan Sun.

Both Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun are much bigger than any AC casino, and have similar restaurants, night clubs, amenties as in Vegas. And they're closer to Manhattan than AC is to Manhattan.

And the upcoming NY State casinos will be large-scale casinos too.

AC needs to differntiate, and really make itself an all-around destination, like Vegas.

dont disagree but as a collection to me it does surpass the CT casinos - Borgata would be one of the better Casinos on the strip - would not the same for Mohegan Sun - gambling perspective yes but not overall

Issue with AC is a lot of the city is like Camden

Revel was truly overdone-it is a very, very nice casino/hotel that would fit in easily on the LV strip. I don't think there will be any buyers...

Supposedly JP Morgan lost $1 Billion investing in Revel so I guess there is a strong silver lining.
