Norfolk, Charleston SC, Buffalo, Tampa, Philadelphia
I’ve gotta say.. I think you’re dead wrong about Charleston. Super expensive. Not that great. I’d easily pick Savannah or New Orleans over that city. I almost transferred there but due to the pay cut and the housing at SEATTLE levels, hell no. It’s cute, it’s quaint, it’s a retirement community for super wealthy New Yorkers who don’t like Florida. I want nothing to do with any of that.
I was actually talking about if we had something like the actual Historic District with some squares and the Victorian District bordering downtown. Inman is nice but doesn't hold a candle to the Colonial architecture and layout of the Historic District.

I am somewhat saddened, though, that at some point the city fathers decided not to continue expanding Savannah along the lines of James Oglethorpe's innovative modular plan of 16-block units with a park interrupting the grid in the middle of each unit.
Imagine how much lovelier the city would look if all of it had been built out according to that plan.
I think most of not all cities in general are underrated. For instance NYC being overrated, how can a city that’s the largest by far in the US with FIDI and Wall St, Broadway, United Nations, Ellis Island and everything else be classified as overrated!
I could see where one could make a case for all of the cities you list above being overrated save for the one I boldfaced.
I'm curious: What leads you to call Baltimore overrated?
I think Baltimore benefits a lot due to its location in the Bos-Wash corridor, being in the Mid-Atlantic region, and also essentially being a part of the DC CSA. It gets a lot of attention and talk on this website specifically because of it, from what I've seen.
Basically, what I'm saying is if Baltimore was located where Milwaukee is, it wouldn't be nearly as brought up as it is.
And when I say overrated, I don't just mean in terms of being talked up. I also mean, its negatives are also exaggerated a lot too.
We can agree to disagree, but what makes you say Atlanta is underrated? Houston, Dallas, and Atlanta are heavily talked about on this site and in the real world when it comes to major sunbelt cities/hubs in the south. I think Atlanta is overrated for multiple reasons, many of which is simply because it's the biggest city for hundreds and hundreds of miles in its respective region. Many people in surrounding states/areas are automatically Braves fans because it's the biggest Metropolis until Nashville, Houston, and DC. It is heavily talked about in the world of Hip Hop, as well as the corporate world, and the aviation industry. In terms of urbanity, I have seen multiple threads here comparing Atlanta to the likes of Boston and Seattle, for which it is clearly no match.
I like Atlanta but IMO it is not at all underrated.
