There are some areas of Roanoke that look like Pennsylvania or Ohio, but even that's a stretch.
West Virginia, especially along the Ohio River, feels more Midwest-influenced. Virginia, not so much.
Roanoke almost reminds me of a smaller, more country Cincinnati- lush, hilly terrain, early 20th century brick buildings, nearly identical demographics on a metro level, somewhat of an 'industrial' feel.

Maybe! Without a river, of course. There's a gritty Appalachian vibe in some Roanoke neighbohoods.
Charleston, WV almost reminds me of a miniature Pittsburgh, too.
None to me but I don’t know what “midwestern” means to you. If it’s any of the central states then none do, but if you’re talking Ohio then maybe a couple of cities could look like the southern part of Ohio.
Someone I know moved to Va Beach from the midwest and says there are similarities... Another person from Los Angeles said VB seemed like a mini version of it. Even I couldn’t get over that.

If you take away the saltwater beach itself, Virginia Beach.
Much of interior VB does feel like it could be a suburb of Chicago, Milwaukee or Detroit. It's very flat with some pine trees and wide streets.
