Las Vegas Pros

Decent IT job market if flexible on role.

Low cost of housing

Less natural disaster risk

Warm weather.

Less government intrusion

Cons of course are it's the Mojave...

Tampa Pros

Great IT job market for my specialty

Low cost of housing.

Warm weather (I like humidity).

Plant life.

Cons of course are the hurricanes and sink holes.

Personally I like Las Vegas for an ever growing list of reasons. I own rental property and can't fathom buying a dozen houses in Tampa at risk of hurricane or sink hole loss year after year.

Las Vegas has many of the same if not better benefits but without the draw backs that Tampa has.
