Sunsets are arguably more famous in terms of representing a city or destination....but I think Sunrises deserve a little fame. So, in Americq, which City enjoys the finest Sunrise? Including only those that come to mind, feel free to add others.

No Western cities on the poll? Mountains not only compliment sunsets, they enhance great sunrises as well.

Though at a disadvantage as mornings often have cloud covered skies, but the clear mornings in Seattle made a beautiful spectacle for sunrises. With Lake Washington and the Cascade range of the east, along with the sun rays coloring the glacier covered slopes of Mt. Rainier, Seattle sunrises are gorgeous.

Desert sunrises over the valley around Phoenix are also very impressive and colorful.

Sunrises and Sunsets are both wonderful in Miami but most are never awake to see the Sunrise.

Never thought to include a plac like Phoenix or Seattle.....the sun rising is ALWAYS a beautiful thing...just seeing it rise over water is, for some...more iconic.

San Francisco, with the fog and the Golden Gate bridge is stunning, as is Seattle. Also, I like cities like Pittsburgh, Cincinnati, and St. Louis better among Midwest cities than Milwaukee and Chicago, just because bridges and arches go so well in the frame, and it's easier to find vantage points where you can see the city the water and the sunrise at the same time.

Probably the best city sunrise I've seen in North America, however, is in Montreal from Mount Royal. It's elevated and so close to the city and facing a perfect angle. So gorgeous.

Miami. Tropical sunrises are the prettiest.

Chicago. Between the lake and the skyline it's impeccable. My second choice is actually Pittsburgh. I love how the fog settles between the lush hills. The colors are most intense during the dawn.

Not a single Western city in the poll. Of course.
