Phoenix has 4 teams, but only 2 are within the city limits, the Suns (NBA) and Diamondbacks (MLB). Glendale (western burb) houses the Cardinals (NFL) and Coyotes (NHL).
The only reason why Minneapolis doesn't have 4 is because St. Paul was all butt hurt about not having a professional team (NHL). Building the Xcel Center in St. Paul when Minneapolis already had the Target Center was totally irresponsible.
Agreed, I'd go big 4 or big 3. Would also be interesting to add in BCS D1 schools, or non-BCS D1 as well. College football is bigger than most pro sports.

Actually same with Chicago's MLS team - the city limits are right on the other side of the stadium's parking lot.
No, the village of Bedford Park sits between the Stadium in Bridgeview and the city limits of Chicago. Chicago is still less than a mile away, but it's not right on the other side of the parking lot.
