Assuming the same income, and living in a nice part of town.... which metro offer the higher quality of life, Austin or Orlando? Any perspectives or experiences are helpful.

Austin by a pretty good margin in all categories. Orlando has a perception of being "affordable" which would only apply in this instance if buying versus renting, but don't think that would compensate for the comparative shortcomings.

FWIW, I consistently hear more English spoken in Albuquerque and Tucson than in Orlando.
