This premise is setting Philly up to fail because in 2014 San Fran's strengths heavily outweigh Philly's strengths in terms of Economy, worldclass getaways, and highend restaurants. Not that Philly doesn't have these things but it just is a completely different kind of place. If Money truly is no object. I would probably own a place in Rittenhouse with a nice balcony, and also an old Victorian in Pacific Heights.
My primary home would be in a beautiful spacious townhome in Rittenhouse Square while maintaining a second home in one of those tony apartments in San Francisco's Pacific Heights neighborhood or either a walk-up Edwardian or a Victorian home in Hayes Valley.
If Ebola killed everyone in it, I would pick San Francisco.
If that was not the case and I would have to share it with all the weirdos that live there, I would pick Philly. Go Liberty Bell!
