How could anyone argue that Austin's skyline is even close to Seattle? Seattle's is growing faster than almost any skyline in the country and already was far ahead of Austin.

Seattle's skyline and downtown are fantastic. I like Austin, but the heat of the south can sometimes kill me. I actually like cold.

So Yes Seattle overall. Also in a better area
Both are relatively safe, but Austin is actually safer than Seattle by a good margin. Look it up on any crime index. Austin is one of the safest big cities in the Country.

Also, Seattle is growing incredibly fast so not sure I'd give growth to Austin.

Nobody is saying Austin skyline is on the level of Seattle. I was stating that Austin packs a punch for a city it's size, though if you look back 10 years ago at the Austin skyline and compare it today, you would see how dense Austin has gotten.

Also a boom rundown list. Quite frankly both Austin and Seattle are growing quite rapidly.

I just don't think seattles skyline is anything special without the space needle. It's alright. Just a lot of uninspiring buildings thrown on top of each other in a confined area..

I love both Seattle and Austin!!
Seattle I love so much because it's a very nice scenery! OMG I can still remember Mount Rainier when I was between ages of 4 and 6 years old. My dad was stationed in Fort Lewis, WA near Tacoma and we'd always go to Seattle also.
But Austin is very nice city where my sister happens to live.. Austin is energetic, fun, creative activities, great food, good music and it's a different taste than the rest of Texas.

Skyline: Seattle
Jobs:Austin
Growth:Austin
Crime: Austin ( I believe Austin is safer)
Public Transportation: Seattle
Scenery:Seattle (Austin's is nice but not as dramatically beautiful as Seattle)
Entertainment: tie
Weather: Austin
Schools: Austin
Colleges: Austin

Seattle easily and offers the superior "city" experience. If I had to live in Texas though, it would be in Austin.

Seattle Skyline without the space needle is just fine

I think people are underestimating the transformation Austin has undergone in the last 2 decades. Seattle has been a regional major metro for sometime and has a pretty urban past and keeps growing and improving. Seattle has always been a top city for me and Austin reminds me of Seattle's little sister.

Ha Ha
That's called density, something rarely seen in the state of Texas.
My vote goes to Seattle for bigger buildings and better architecture; (Koolhause, Gehry, Yamasaki, etc).

Austin is nice but hardly a Seattle.
