I see around 8 buildings in Austin's skyline.

Seattle has UW and 11 other colleges.

Austin - SkyscraperPage Forum

A quick look on that forum will show you handfuls of towers that are currently under construction among the other handfuls of proposed. The skyline is littered with cranes and is already beautiful for a city it's size right in the river front.

AUSTIN | Photos & Videos Thread - Page 49 - SkyscraperPage Forum

And scrolling to the bottom for the sideshot of the skyline shows more than 8 buildings.

And I'll take UT over UW and those 11 other colleges in a heartbeat. Btw, austin has far more colleges than just UT. But in my view it's all it needs to beat Seattle.

Once Austin has skyscrapers and not just little buildings, you can call it a skyline.
Even Bellevue, WA has a bigger and better skyline than Austin.

Seattle is actually hillier than Austin. As far as the river, there is a lot of more water around Seattle as well.

I am a proud graduate of UT but I'm not sure why you said that about the comparison of colleges. The University of Washington is an excellent university. If you attend UT, you will see references to peer institutions that UT uses to see how it competes in statements about how many books in the library system, hours of the libraries, how many foreign languages are offered, and so on. UW is one of the peer institutions UT compares itself to. The determining factor when comparing the two cities for colleges isn't UT or UW but the colleges and universities other than those two schools. I'd give the edge to Seattle.

I voted Seattle.

Seattle for me, minus its weather. Austin gets the win for weather (flora and fauna, too), though.

It is funny for me. From April through October I'd pick Seattle by a mile. From November through March I'd pick Austin by a mile.

If weather is not an issue, I'd pick Seattle just because if it's age as an international city, the water, and mountains.
