Hey I am looking to move and the cities I have the choice to relocate are Cleveland, New Orleans, Philadelphia, and Buffalo. How would rank these cities 1-4 in terms of night life for a single person in his 20's? which place in general has more to do?
It all depends on what you're used to, where you're from, and what you like to do. For the "average" person, I would say Philadelphia, followed by Cleveland, would be your best bets. For the right person, New Orleans would be a good fit. If you're used to the region, Buffalo may not be a bad choice, either. Your initial post is very vague, though.
sorry about that, I am actually from NYC. I want to be in a big city, I know Philly is some what close to New York. But I have not been to either Cleveland or New Orleans for an extended amount of time and wanted to know which place has a more city feel. I guess I want the diversity, night life, various things to do that exist in New york but I wont be able to stay in New York
I'd imagine that Cleveland and Buffalo wouldn't really compare to our night life options. However, Philly is a big place and I'm sure there is lots to do there. But in New Orleans drinking is the local sport.
Philadelphia will feel the most like NY. The other three cities aren't even in the same class. However NOLA feels like a bigger city then it actually is and is pretty sophisticated. It isn't Philly but it is better than the other two. Actually Buffalo is kind of sad except for a few nice suburbs. Cleaveland does have some life within it's borders but less than NOLA.
In terms of nightlife options, I'd rank them like this from the most to the fewest:
1. Philadelphia
2. New Orleans
3. Cleveland
4. Buffalo
None of the cities are "lacking" in nightlife, so don't be afraid of any of them; it's just that your chances of going to the same spot more than once increase as you work your way down the list, if that makes any sense.
1. Philadelphia
2. New Orleans ~ Cleveland (Hard to say; N.O. has the French quarter, but outside of there, not a whole lot in downtown)
3. Buffalo
New Orleans is more than downtown and there's things to do all over.
