Where would a person from Pittsburgh feel most like they are in the "southern Pittsburgh"? Not in terms of size or demographics, but culture and neighborhood feel. Thanks

Yeah in the far east of the south. But Austin Tx can make the the overall best claim.

Austin TX a little. Most southern cities aren't anything like Pittsburgh.

Don't see how austin and Pittsburgh compare culturally and in any way. Unfortunely austin doesn't have much culture, or even big city amenities. No pro sports. Bad public transportation. I mean as much as I love it .. Austin just doesn't do well against established cities.

The Far East. LOL.

Birmingham had a large steel industry like Pittsburgh, and it is really the only large city in the South that was built on and around heavy industry prior to the 20th century. Not sure if there are other similarities.

Ethnically, probably nowhere. Austin and surrounding areas have locals with German and Czech ancestry, but the overwhelming non-American culture here is Mexican. About the only legacy of those Germans and CZechs are kolaches of which the meat based ones seem much more common here than the jelly based ones which has not been my experience elsewhere.

Miami, Atlanta, Houston, and Dallas seem to be the large cities in the south with noticeable ommunities of recent immigrants, but even then it would be different from the ethnic communities of Pittsburgh.

I wanna say Chattanooga, TN.

Steel town and railroad town, railroads are made out of steel.

I know, it's a bit of a stretch...

No city in the south is culturally like Pittsburgh. Austin and maybe Atlanta make the best comparison to Pittsburgh.
