You might check out Charlotte too. I know it has a least one great roadhouse bar--the Double Door. One of my all time favorite joints.

I'd definitely look into Nashville, probably the best place. I heard there was a punk rock scene around King Street in Charleston, but you don't like punk and that's all I know. Still, might be worth looking into. You might like Asheville, also Charlottesville in Virginia and possibly Knoxville. However, I'd probably stick with Nashville. Good luck!

I just started a thread in the charleston section asking how the music scene is, and the 1 response i got said that it's mostly Folk and Country, and there's absolutely no punk or metal scene. Who do I believe? maybe both. haha.

Right on, charlotte seems too big for me, I think if I was gonna go that big I'd definitely go with nashville, but it couldn't hurt stop by for a day.
