From your guys experience what U.S. big city do you feel the SAFEST in? Like from crime, robberies, shootings, etc. A place where it seems where people aren't all crazy.

Take other world big cites for example such as Tokyo, London, Madrid, Berlin where you could walk pretty much anywhere at 3am without having to fear anything. Those are safe cites! What big U.S. cities do you think are like that?

Seattle, Denver, Austin and Boston are all more dangerous than NYC.

Total crimes, per 100k people.

San Francisco: 6642
Seattle: 6167
Houston: 6049
DC: 5793
Portland: 5348
Austin: 5213
Nashville: 4888
Denver: 4283
Los Angeles: 3639
Boston: 3555
San Jose: 2895
NYC: 2315

NYC the safest large city in the U.S, when looking at total crime. Homicide rate, it's San Jose followed by NYC. But homicide rates are pretty irrelevant to anyone unless you're in a gang or hang around gang people. Your chance of being gunned down as a person not affiliated with people like that is nearly 0. Other crimes like assault, burglaries, muggings and theft are common and affect normal people.

It's pretty shocking how safe NYC is. Well, I guess not since it's the only city I've been to here in the U.S. where see police just standing around random corners.

I believe San Jose followed by NYC are the safest major cities in the U.S. Shocking how safe NYC is. Well, I guess not since it's the only city I've been to here in the U.S. where see police just standing around random corners.
What????? Where are these stats coming from? And I'm more talking along the lines of violent crime and assault.

Not true. London's overall crime rate is much higher than New York, and nearly any of the top 10 American cities.

European cities simply have lower homicide rates but homicide is by far the lowest % of total crime, so makes no sense just to look at that when you are hundreds of percentage points more likely to be mugged/assaulted/raped/burglarized than killed.

London has higher mugging rate than HARLEM!

Among "real" cities, definitely NYC.

Among all the cities on your list, I believe San Jose is actually the safest, but I wouldn't count it. It's basically just an agglomeration of suburbs.

Now mugging is worse in London than in Harlem | Daily Mail Online
Exactly. Europe has much lower MURDER rates than in the U.S. Most crimes are actually far higher in Europe. You are MUCH more likely to get your purse snatched somewhere like Rome than somewhere in the U.S.

NYC is safe for its size its massive it has 8 million people and their PD is one of the best trained in the world. I personally think Nashvile and Austin are the safest cities I have been to on his list especially considering they have over half a million people in their cities and few homicides.
