Thanks man. I've learned to try to be reasonable in my claims/opinions after an early lifetime of constantly sticking my foot in my mouth haha.

Anyways, what you said was correct. The immigrant community and AA community in Boston get along as good as anywhere I have lived, other than NYC. Our cultures just kind of blend together in a cool way. If you cant appreciate that, then you are just looking for a reason to be judgmental. Or you just dont "get it"
That's good to hear...and yea, that's definitely a cool thing if you ask me. Massachusetts has never been known for having a large African American community, so it's great to see that a good & interesting relationship between Afriacan Americans & black immigrants has grown out of that. Sure, it'll never be a black Mecca like Atlanta, DC, or Philadelphia, but it's still really cool.

All I know is that I never hear the "real blacks" vs "the fake blacks" argument in real life on the ground. Thank goodness no one brings that kind of stupidity around me.
Yea, I don't know what to say about that.

Thats really cute and all boys, but I don't need validation from anonymous internet users. I'll stick to actual friends of all backgrounds I've had growing up in my social circle. Some I consider more of family than my own.

America has lame nightlife? I wouldn't call NYC, Miami, Vegas or New Orleans lame. Not many countries can match up to that.

Philadelphia isn't Cancun, but it's still far more entertaining than a night out in Boston.

Why are Bostonians so uptight a visitor doesn't care for their city?

I think it's because Bostonians are uptight by nature. Pesky Puritan values.

I have to agree with ya. Philly is very entertaining in its own right. We are PHILLY ya know. Alot of people on this fourm do say Boston is uptight. But if some people get uptight about a visitor who doesn't care for their city they shouldn't. Its so funny because last night me and my friends was talking about our city and basically saying how people view the city as crazy and rude and i mentioned but at the sametime its just a Northeast thing for the most part and also stated that "people who visit like the upfront in your face honesty" and we are still a fun , loving city. But we are honest and direct. So thats again why i think Philly has that edge in its own right and that's apart of the charm.

I dont think anyone said the nightlife was "lame". I recall saying it was "tame". Yes it is compared to other countries that do not have closing times and the vibe is less uptight. I just got back from Trinidad for example. Spend a week in POS during Carnival and come back and tell me about the wild nights.

The nice aspect of living in the US is there are alot of things to do in all the big cities, Philly and Boston both included. But the main attraction is its a great place career wise and standard of living. Letting loose and having fun is not one of its strong points.

Thats fantastic and trust me I love when people from outside the community show up to support.

At the same time I am confused as to why you would take it upon yourself to separate black folks based on where they are born and apply tags of legitimate vs illegitimate. I have a hard time believing that you would say something like that to one of your foreign black friends face and if you did and they didnt check you, then that is all I have to know about the Mantan's you surround yourself with. They probably let you drop the N word around them as well.

Just a little advice, dont speak on an experience you havent lived yourself. No matter how hard you try you are who you are. I am sure you dont want me speaking for your community, right?

Now back to the topic. Two great cities with alot of personality and history. No one has to sh*t on one to elevate the other.
