Their exists a relatively good possibility that Mercer county will flip back to the Philly Metro in 2020 census . That would bring back 350,000 people in the Philly Metro if that should happen than Philly will maintain it's 6th most populated Metro ranking . Beware of the black swan ..

I can see that for the 2020 census. But for 2030, even Mercer wouldn't hold off Miami, Atlanta, and DC.

Staying with my initial response. It’s Miami or DC. Unless Atlanta has some super growth in the 2020s, I don’t think it will outgrow Miami and DC by that much.
