Illinois is hard. I would say probably Rockford or Peoria. But, truth be told, in terms of its cultural sphere of influence, and that nearly 700,000+ people live in the Illinois suburbs, I might be inclined to say St. Louis, Missouri.
Lol, except St. Louis isn't really in Illinois, and the 700,000 in Illinois suburbs of St. Louis isn't one city. I'm not even sure what the big suburb is down there.

ALRIGHT! Someone else picked South Bend, I did too. Think it's an underrated city as far as Indiana goes. It's actually the second largest CSA in Indiana after Indianapolis. Little over 700,000 people in South Bend CSA which is over 100k more than Fort Wayne.
I'd like to know your logic behind some of these. If Oklahoma City is Oklahoma's SECOND city, Then you must be assuming that Tulsa would be it's first. I don't know another soul on here that would carry that same logic.
Also I'd challenge that Lansing is Michigan's second city when it's metro area is less than half the size of Grand Rapids
Yeah, I'm glad he has opinions on it, but some of those choices don't make any sense. Grand Rapids, though not the capital and lesser known than Detroit and Lansing in many ways, is a pretty large area and on the up and coming. They may not have Michigan State University, but I feel Grand Rapids is a much nicer city.
Oklahoma City > Tulsa in pretty much every way. Tulsa is a close second, but I don't think it's disputable. Much like Miami to Tampa or Los Angeles to San Francisco, one is nice and big, the other one is bigger and better.

Surprised you put St. George over Provo though.
I'm pretty sure Notre Dame being on the radar helped me pick that one. For Provo, Utah, well it's on that Wasatch/I-15 corridor with Salt Lake, where as St. George is more of its own entity.

True, Notre Dame gives the entire area its identity. Everything is "Irish" there.

Both are internationally known, Augusta for the Master's, and Savannah just for being Savannah. The Midnight movie did not hurt either. But yes, Savannah will overtake Augusta in population very soon.

If Augusta's metro area were to completely stop growing, and Savannah's were to speed up even more, then maybe. Savannah's metro is currently gaining population a lot faster, but its not to the point where it would be very soon to be over 580k. As with city population though, I definitely see that happening.
