I didn't realize another city built a park over the freeway. It was pretty revolutionary when Phoenix did it back in the early 90's. The Dallas one is for sure a lot smaller. I know they are redoing Hence park in Phoenix, it was really showing its age. If the remodel looks anything like the rendering, Hence park should be better.
I believe also Dallas is building a second deck park this time over I-35 in front of the zoo and Atlanta has visited Dallas as they are speaking of doing the same over the I75/I 85 merge north of downtown.

Yes the I-35E section is being built now. Plans are drawn for the I-30 “Canyon” in Downtown Dallas as well that will have at least 2 if not more deck parks re-connecting that end of downtown to The Cedars neighborhood.
Also public meetings in early December to get the public’s opinion on what should be done with the elevated I-345 freeway that divides the eastern areas of Downtown from Bryan Place and Deep Ellum. This will be a good one to watch.
The Legacy area of Plano is looking at a deck park option over the Dallas North Tollway to connect both areas of the Legacy development that the current tollway divides.

“Southern Gateway Public Green sits at a nexus of opportunity, creating a park to bridge a freeway and unite a once-divided community,” said Chuck Daniel, Dallas Managing principal and lead SWA designer, in a press release. “The impediment to downtown access is being addressed, as are community concerns about housing and gentrification, as part of the master plan for Oak Cliff. This is a win-win for the local community and for Dallas as a whole. The City is setting a new precedent for green space and connectivity where none previously existed.”
Similar to SWA’s previous work with Riverside Park South on Manhattan’s west side and Park 101 in Los Angeles, Southern Gateway Public Green will consist of a raised pedestrian walkway, a playground, and spaces for dining, retail, and performances. These park amenities were informed by public feedback. In addition to outdoor recreational spaces, the park will house educational exhibits to inform visitors on the history of the Oak Cliff neighborhood.
I've been to Klyde Warren and enjoyed it. Haven't been to Hance Park, but your Google Maps link with the homeless druggies doesn't make it seem very appealing.
Aren't Encanto and Papago the premier urban parks of Phoenix? Papago might be more like Central Park in size, but I really enjoyed all the attractions there.
I really like the fact that they exist. I'd quibble with some details (some obvious cross-freeway walking routes are missing) but there are a lot of good details too.
