The OP also thinks the Miami and NYC occupy the same geographic region. Drawing from experience from the plane of existence we understand as reality, I’ve been to Las Vegas at least 60 times. I don’t even really like the place, but other people do and its relative accessibility makes going there inevitable. During that time, I’ve never taken a single day off from work. How many people in NYC can say the same for Miami?
if you ignore getting to the airport, going through security, etc. then sure...
And NYC to Miami tacks an additional two hours on a more expensive flight. Of course, booking flights also means less spontaneity than driving, particularly when your friend volunteers.

An extra 2 hours hardly makes a trip impractical for a weekend.
Four additional total, more expensive, less opportunity to do it on the spur of the moment.
How many times have you travelled from NY for Miami just for a weekend?
the same number as i have from LA to Vegas.
i think you are missing the point of the OP... he was essentially asking if money were no object, would you rather set up shop with NYC and Miami as your bases, or LA and Vegas as your bases.
They are both East Coast cities dummy not in the same geographic location.
I said it once I'll say it again, what MIA is to NYC is what Vegas is to L.A.
What do coasts have to do with anything? CA and HI sit on the same ocean; they're as much the same "region" - according your own original premise- as MIA and NYC.
You can say whatever you want. In reality, you get AC.

Do you mean zero times?
Even then, the premise is untenable because it falsely assumes two locales occupy the same region.
If money weren't an object, I could just as well take my Learjet from LA to Miami. Or HI. Or Costa Rica, or Paris.

I could say I'm 6'10" with a 48 inch vertical, that doesn't make it so.
Las Vegas gets 26% of its tourism from one region, Southern California. Most visitors drive there.
LA/SF are more closely intertwined too (1hr, 21 minutes gate to gate).
