Plenty of people head to the Lake Michigan shore, and a smaller amount to Lake Superior, but that is absolutely dwarfed by the people heading to the tens of thousands of inland lakes dotted with cottages. Not even close. I would know.

that's just not true, as myself being a renowned expert on length of shorelines, besides Hawaii and Maui Counties as well as many Alaska Counties, Suffolk (Long Island) and Barnstable (Cape Cod) have way, WAY more shoreline than Door County.

Regardless, 300 miles of Lake Michigan shoreline is probably the most on the Great Lakes, so it's still germane to the point.
