I really expected Boston, Seattle, and Philadelphia to be higher.

I'd also be curious to see the statistics for the individual MSA's, as the majority of immigrants usually end up in the main metropolitan areas.

Florida West Coast, on Tampa Bay.

I assume Tampa would be pretty high, but obviously Cleveland was included to show the extreme on the other end. Tampa would be somewhere between Cleveland and the rest.

I thought Tampa would have far more than many on that list, especially over smaller metros like Portland. Orlando is also smaller than I thought it would be, but then I remember that hundreds of thousands of Orlando residents are Puerto Rican, who though might come off as foreign born are actually citizens and are included in domestic migration.

I'll do a compilation by MSA in a bit, since several people in the thread have also asked for MSA numbers.

Tampa isn't in the OP because the OP used 3 million people as a population cutoff for PCSAs. As in if an area has less than 3 million people, it isn't included. Tampa does rather well for its size and by 2016 the Tampa MSA will be well above 3 million people (we'll get those numbers next March), currently it just barely misses that cutoff.

Surprised that Philadelphia is as low as it is percentage wise.
