Which would you take for a weekend trip? Why?

...this would be mid-to-late Fall.

It's obviously Miami. A weekend trip Miami, an extensive trip (week or more) San Francisco. For me after three days of the beach and a tour of the Everglades I'd be ready to head out. San Francisco requires more time to explore the city and surrounding region.

Miami for a weekend trip. The nightlife, the beaches, the jet skis, and the women.

To be honest I would much rather see those other cities during the week when they are most active, and for longer periods of time as well. I would get bored in Miami pretty quick.

Only issue with Miami is that fall is hurricane season, so you can get a pretty bad roll of the die.

I think what makes more sense is to say what you're looking for.

I've yet to experience New York in autumn, so that would be my pick.

There is no wrong answer here.

I picked SF because it is the absolute best weather of the year in San Francisco in fall. Warmest/least fog of the year.

The only city I've never been to on this list is Miami. The other three cities are not fit for weekend trips. At the same time, I can't speak for Miami.

I could do a weekend in each of these cities and go home satisfied.

Really though, I think a weekend trip is a good fit for a smaller city. I'd be down with doing Cleveland or Norfolk. Do that instead.
