How can a city be any more or less friendly than it normally is "when compared to Los Angeles"?
Stereotypically people regard LA (or really the whole state of CA) as friendly. I tend to find people more approachable than in NYC but I wouldn't call LA a friendly city overall.
But compared to other cities on the list (Hartford, Raleigh etc) LA is friendlier no doubt.
I don't consider LA particularly friendly, and I don't understand the OP at all...several of the cities above I would consider more friendly, overall, than LA.
The phrasing makes no sense. You don't need to include "compared to Los Angeles" for the poll. Just ask which city is the friendliest.
Or change it to something like "Are any of these cities friendlier than Los Angeles?" and allow participants to check off more than one box.
But, how else could the OP invite others to dump on Los Angeles?
