I actually like Omaha, though Nebraska itself offers me little. It's "nice." El Paso and OKC are about a draw for me, though if forced, I'd probably go OKC due to amenities and so on, even though I'm not a fan of its region or sprawl.
I think Omaha is the clear winner here and it isn't even close. It offers a lot for its size. I think its also the only one of these three that actually feels and acts like a "city." It's Old Market area is far superior to OKC's Bricktown and its entire downtown is just nicer. Omaha also has a reputation for having an excellent live music scene, some considering it to be somewhat of a mini-Austin. If forced between these three cities, I would choose Omaha without a second thought.
OKC and El Paso are both about on the same level with each having distinct advantages and disadvantages. I would say El Paso might be slightly ahead. El Paso has great bones and a lot of untapped potential. OKC might have a few more amenities (though debatable) but is overall too conservative and probably the most underwhelming city its size in the entire U.S.
I have never been to any of the three, at least not since I was old enough to remember, but as an outsider with no experience I'd pick Omaha for sure. Its reputation is just hipper, downtown looks more enticing, and I imagine it has the most potential/upward trajectory of the three.
But again, this is based on second hand opinions and from a distance.
Omaha has a distinctively historical and non-generic feeling to it's downtown area. It's pretty cool actually.
