Hi,

I'm currently living in Los Angeles with my parents, but I'm toying with the idea of moving to Iowa City, IA, where I have some family. I'm 23, with no college degree, and need to move out and find a job soon, whether or not I choose to stay in L.A.

According to some data I found in some quick Google searches, the unemployment rate is much lower in Iowa City, and the cost of living is much lower.

A couple questions:

1) Will it really be much more difficult to find a random unskilled job in LA (North Hollywood specifically) than Iowa City?

2) Will the higher cost of living make life a struggle?

Basically, I'd prefer to stay in L.A., so I want to know if the economic factors are going to make it overwhelmingly preferable to move to the midwest, for a kid in my position. Any help is appreciated!
