Also Number 1 on the Billboard 200. Again, no booty shaking, trap beats, non-sensical lyrics. You need rear ends shaking to achieve this type of commercial success today.
I'll just chalk this one up to you not understanding much about music.
I don't need to go to Wikipedia to get my information. Nobody that used Snares and 808's throughout the south OUTSIDE Atlanta called the music Trap music in the South. Hell I didn't know what trap music was until T.I. came out with it in 2003. Next time though, leave the arrogance and condescending attitude out of this. It leads nowhere.

Reason: change that up a bit.
I do like Wale though. Too bad he doesn't enjoy the commercial success of, say, Big Sean.
Yes, Really. You keep posting radio/club singles to prove your point tho, so you can't be taken seriosly. Ol Dirty Bastard was lyrically garbage, but was popular in NYC and everywhere else in the 90s, so it wasn't always about lyrics; a song just had to be catchy.

No, really. To prove the point that today's music isn't dominated by club bangers, you choose Big Sean as an example, a former Detroit DJ who makes his living making club bangers. That's like choosing Donald Trump as an example of a Republican who isn't racist and xenophobic.
I never said that all commercially successful music in the 90s was lyrical. I said that more lyrical content was present in the mainstream and it performed better commercially. You're essentially saying that today is basically the same as the 90s and I find that to be patently ridiculous.

You could just admit you were wrong. You said 808s and snares aren't trap music when those are two of the defining characteristics of the genre. You're better off in opinion debates where you don't have to cite data and facts.
