Is NYC or LA a better place to relocate to for a black-white couple? I mean this in terms of things like stares, racist attitudes, racist comments, and general acceptance/quality of life.
In which of the two are such relationships more common?
I am not knowledgable on the issue so any information would be appreciated!
LA is simply much less "status quo" than NYC, though racism does still exist. One thing is for sure, you are not going to get stopped and frisked in LA.
It is more common in NYC seeing as NYC has almost six times as many black people and almost three times as many white people numbers wise. I noticed in NYC more black/white couples of both sides BF/WM and BM/WW.These two cities are cultural melting pots though so you will be 100 percent fine in either city. Although I feel that it is more common in NYC you still won't get stares or racist attitudes from either white people or black people when you are in LA if you are in a white/black relationship(speaking from personal experience seeing as i'm in one right now).

Where did you feel more comfortable being in an interracial relationship?
LA seems much more cool with interracial relationships, but I wonder if much of that is due to the fact that a higher percentage of interracialrelationships in New York are between Blacks and Whites which are two groups with a long, historic contentious history as compared to the typical interracial relationships in LA which are more often between Whites and Latinos, some of whom are technically not even racially distinct from their partners, or Asians.
Think it evens out...I would think LA may be very slightly better in the interracial couple and people caring aspect but NYC evens it out by being the ultimate city where nobody cares what you do...bottom line, I wouldn't let that aspect factor in a relocation decision between these 2
