I don't necessarily think so. Sure, Chicago is known for being Americas premiere city for modern skyscraper architecture, and it's definitely no slouch if we excluded that aspect either.

With that being said, SF's Low rise architecture is beautiful, and IMO, more diversified that Chicagos. (It's not all Victorians). It's not praised as an architectural city nearly as much as others in the US, but I think one can make a very good argument for it.

Skyscrapers
Hot Dogs
Pizza
Baseball fans
