nightlife - Columbus then Omaha
culture - Big "C" = Indy...little "c" = Omaha
shopping - I can buy what I want in any of those places
dining - defer to others, I suspect Columbus, though.
weather - negligible difference
scenery - Omaha
outdoor activities - negligible difference
crime rate - Indy loses.
economy - Columbus right? All seem solid to strong
people - negligible difference
quality of life - negligible difference
My preference is probably Omaha then Columbus then Indy, but I think they all get poo-pooed unfairly and are each very good, comfortable, easy places with high QOL. All of them seem like places I would be very happy living.
Columbus hands down...The fact that Indy is winning this poll? Better brand recognition (think pro sports, stadiums, and even the Super Bowl) and a more walkable, tourist friendly downtown. So Kudos to Indy for that
From someone who isn't an Indy hater, why is Columbus better than Indianapolis? I like Indy,s urban downtown, sports, and Indy has nice suburbs. The scenery leaves a lot to be desired though.
Smh most times people that don't like Indy never lived here or do they know anything other than downtown. It's not like Columbus or Omaha has a BIG tourist attraction I do believe Indy airport is much bigger and busier than both of those cities plus Indy has hosted way more nationally known events than either of those cities combined
Columbus has pockets of cool, and large swaths of sadness. Just like Indy. Probably just like Omaha.
I give the edge to Indy simply for its sports. The Indy 500, the NBA, and the NFL are all things neither Columbus or Omaha have. Omaha IMO doesn't compare to Columbus and Indy...it's much smaller and has no professional sports whatsoever. Not to mention its winters are far more severe and its summers on average worse than Columbus and Indy although all three are not that pleasant in the summer or winter to begin with.
Omaha, its a good city, but it aint Columbus or Indianapolis. I like and can live in Columbus with no problem, but im used to indy(I travel through there alot). Columbus is a great place to live though, i like the feel and vibe of it...
