The only one ahead of it that is not a "major city" is Jersey City, which by many peoples accounts does not even operate like a true "suburb." Meaning based on those numbers Arlington is either 1 or 2 in the country based on what the topic of this thread is. If you go further to #15 Alexandria's transit usage percentage is as high or even higher than major cities like Seattle. So your claims are the ones getting blown to smithereens actually. All you people acting like we're trying to show you up or boost the thread should take a seat back and read the facts.

Red John I think they've had enough, shut 'er down.
31% of people in Cambridge walk or bike to work. It's the most urban, walkable, transit friendly "suburb" in America, BAR NONE.

Not true at all? . I'm just curious aside from Santa Monica, which suburbs do you think are walkable as a whole?

Brooklyn is not uninteresting! Brooklyn is beautiful. There is nothing beautiful about Cambridge.

Cambridge honestly isn't a true "suburb" either, its like going across to University city from CC Philadelphia. But ok heck even if you count Cambridge, Arlington is what 2nd in the nation? Then you have to add all the other immediate DC burbs like Alexandria, Silver Spring, Bethesda, etc. and all their transit usage.

Bethesda is 90% sprawly suburbia, often without sidewalks. I really hope people aren't going to claim that Bethesda is urban now.

Bethesda isn't a jurisdiction with boundaries. Maryland doesn't work that way. I hope you will educate yourself on the difference between cities and census designated places before commenting again. Wheaton is considered Silver Spring in Montgomery County in case you didn't know.
