This list has a lot of similarities with healthiest cities, if i'm not mistaken. Which makes sense if true.

"To determine which cities looked the youngest, we took into account factors from binge drinking and obesity to levels of physical activity and stress. By comparing the numbers against the national average, we ranked these 65 most populous cities with 1 being the youngest-looking and 65 being the least young looking."

Yeah, it's just extrapolating youthful appearances from demographic data. It's not actually getting photographs of people in the same age bracket across a bunch of different cities, then having an AI (or human subjects) guess their ages.

It seems like there's a general "unhealthy zone" for a lot of different factors (smoking, depression, opiate use, etc.) that stretches from the eastern Midwest (Indiana, Ohio) to the Deep South and Oklahoma. And that zone looks like the biggest hole in this map.

Doesn't the sun age you though? Most of those cities are active and in the west.

Incidentally and ironically....Seattle is one of the few cities noted as having "above average" sun exposure...

The ones on the West Coast are in the Bay Area or the PNW. People in Denver don't really look that young for their age skin wise because of the sun but most are in good shape though.

i often lump Denver people with the west coast. Similar.

Other factors. Agree with the above smoking and alcohol will age you big time.

West coast has a lot of Asians who generally look younger than their age imo.

Go on a dating website, compare Phoenix to a PNW city.. It's remarkable how much older Phoenix folks look at the same age.

So, are we to assume that photo captures are a fair representation of an entire city of people. If pictures are taken at a club, or a dating site, they are representative of most in that area? People on a dating site, for example, don't try to look their VERY best to find what they're hoping to find? That person on the dating site, is more a representative of that age group, for instance, than those who are already married, have children, etc. You get my drift.

Considering the #6 source of in-migration to Metro PHX is Seattle, you could be seeing your old dates or neighbors on your dating website.
