Which one of these two cities has better weather?
Which one of these two cities has a better economy?
Which one is better overall?

I'd argue Shreveport for all 3, Flint is one of the worst cities in the US as far as jobs and crime go, and the winters are brutal and last practically half the year!

So it is a metaphorical choice between being murdered (Flint) or being beat up pretty good (Shreveport), neither is good, but one is better than the other

Shreve has better weather, better economy (though that's not saying much), and is much better overall. Flint's murder rate is about 4 times higher. Flint's only real advantage is better water.

Shreveport, easily for me. Although, I'm not a fan of Louisiana as a whole, Shreveport vibes closely with Texas.

Economy - Shreveport; energy, military, tourism via casinos.

Scenery - Shreveport; lots of pines and rolling terrain, a river also cuts through the city.

Weather - Shreveport; I'd rather deal with hot and humid summers over long, wet, frigid winters.

Proximity to other places - Shreveport; easy trips to New Orleans, Gulf Coast beaches, Dallas and Houston. Tough call though, and I could understand someone preferring Flint's proximity to Chicago, Detroit and Toronto.

Food - Shreveport

That last sentence is ironic, to say the least.

That last sentence was not a serious comment but I've tasted the tap water in Shreve and it's pretty disgusting.

Flint has better weather than Shreveport, though everything is worse but it's not like by a WHOLE lot. Shreveport sucks, and Michigan is a better state than Louisiana. Only the southeast part of Michigan is dangerous.

Easy trip to New Orleans? Lol you would think! Takes like 7 hours to get to New Orleans when you factor in all the traffic and construction! At least it did for us when we went there!

Flint has more tolerable summers, but Shreveport is better the other 8 months of the year, unless you like feet of snow and not seeing the sunshine for 6 days straight

7 hours? We drove from Dallas, but the leg between Shreveport to New Orleans took about 5 hours.

I guess sucked to be you that trip.
