San Francisco area is hard to beat with attributes of SF and Silicon Valley in the area. Glad to see Chicago, that many Torontonians like to see as defeated by them and surpassed. Still got #2 even in the thread of so many attributes to judge by.

Shows it still is a city that has value recognized and not to be seen as in Decline in respect to Toronto especially. But it surely has its issues.

What impresses me the most. Is how downtown Chicago did so many improvements that were so right on to rejuvenate its Core. Aesthetically and added attractions tourist flock and even for families to for children right downtown. All highly such successful and free but for purchases while there.

So much that it did not have 20-30 years ago and ongoing after a couple decades of declines. But Corporate America seems to not have abandoned it with iconic American skyscrapers getting built while declines in its core were still very much present and ongoing.

For all the city and leaders get accused and blamed for? They did see these additions and improvements through to reality with donations from corporate America and Wealthy donors. The transformation has been to a clean and vibrant core that added 200,000 residents it did not have 30 yrs. Ago. A lakefront with a master plan, originally drawn up by the Architect Daniel Burnham in 1909 and still ongoing. The Lakefront recreated when much was lost and ultimately protected as public for all to enjoy.

Sadly, it has lost population on its gang issued Southside and Middle-class being squeezed even by gentrification and higher taxes.
It still is a "Tale of two Cities". That no one has seemed to fix and its pension debt to winters that do not help. At least aesthetically, even in its high crime neighborhoods. Worst blight was removed by the city. Another improvement despite not a solution. Also removing all its Notorious and failed Housing Projects.

Defeated it is not. Transforming it is. In decline it is not in status. But other cities are striving to their potential in their booms in overall populations. It can be a WIN WIN FOR ALL OF THEM I surely hope.

You guys call for the other thread to be closed but then insist on bringing over the same argument into this thread.

I'm intrigued as to why you chose to combine Vancouver and Bellingham, why not go north instead of south when defining the CSA? I think an international border would be a clear line between two MSAs/CSAs.

What are you talking about, you guys? There are post favorably on Toronto here, the city you boast for and everyone is CIVIL. Vancouver is not in the city list. But you clearly want the WHOLE Greater Toronto Horseshoe included for Toronto? Why question Vancouver by some poster apparently here you did not show in quote?

Please don't argue against other cities not Toronto either. Post are civil here.

I'm talking about #46 from his list:

046. Vancouver/Bellingham, Canada-United States: 2,918,146

I find it interesting Vancouver and Bellingham, which are in different countries, were combined.

So are San Diego and Tijuana, Mexico
And Detroit and Windsor, Canada. Probably just because those places are right on the border
