Based on what?

Indianapolis? Portland?

That I've been too-

Gotta show my hometown Chicago some love

Austin has a great downtown core

Dallas

Minneapolis

Never made it to downtown but around Phoenix is really nice

But haven't been impressed with many downtowns on a whole level for one reason or another

Wow what a comprehensive and unbiased ranking! And your methodology is quite sensible, I'm glad you explained it to us

Portland has a great downtown. It's not large but the streets are narrow and it has a decent activity level over a large area.

Yeah, but I wouldn't rank it over Chicago. Hell I wouldn't rank Philly above Chicago. Chicago has the nation's best CBD outside NYC, no question.

NYC. The best, no question.

Yeah not sure where that came from. Downtown Dallas has gotten better, but it's still fairly lame and largely dead after 5pm.

I personally can't stand Philly, so I'm surprised to see it #1. To each their own, I suppose.
