You can't take non native and non long term residents opinions of LA seriously. Especially when they are from Chicago or the Bay Area. That's like rule #1 about being from LA.

Yea that video is so not urban! Its Naperville! LOL!

Lol..really? I see a giant freeway surrounded by lots of 1-5 story development and a few high rises from the 80s and 90s with a few new ones under construction. Looks incredibly auto centric and not too appealing to live in. Always enjoy visiting LA, but if I'm going to live in a more auto centric city in SoCal, I'll choose San Diego or Santa Barbara.

A lot of the "urbanity" you see in the distance of that video looks a lot like this

Not saying parts of LA aren't urban. Some are quite urban. But just because Pittsburgh is a much smaller city doesn't mean that its core isn't a lot more urban (in the structural sense) than LA. Its a matter of age. Pittsburgh is a pre-auto city. I still find this comparison kind of silly, givin the absurdly different sizes of the cities.

I've been to Pittsburgh and it doesn't look or feel even remotely as urban LA. I can't believe people are posting street views of 2 lane streets in PGH and trying to say it's more urban than Santa Monica Blvd or Wilshire Blvd. Ridiculous.

I'm guessing it's the same people who believe Pittsburgh is the only city with hills (And small ones to boot).

I have to definitely agree. Its not about the size. We know LA is much larger. Pittsburgh is simply not as urban as LA, especially if you've been to Pittsburgh recently.

This is so meaningless.
Youre picking a street in beverly hills, for Gods sake.

I agree. If this is about residential neighborhoods, Pittsburgh easily wins IMO.

You base how urban a street is on how wide it is and how many cars it has?

Something like this probably looks very suburban to you then.
