18. Dallas
Interesting list, but I'd make some changes.

If Miami isn't top 5 for stuff to do, you really need to define what "stuff to do" means. Other than hiking in the hills, LA doesn't offer much that Miami doesn't also offer, but you ranked LA #2.

Minneapolis also needs some justifying. It is too cold for most of the year to do much of anything. Maybe drop Minneapolis and add Honolulu. I'd put Tampa on the list before Dallas, Atlanta, Houston, and Philadelphia too.

NY & LA offer about the same things to do in terms of entertainment. But Los Angeles has the edge in having beaches and theme parks.

Soursop,Miami is too small to offer the same things as L.A

Cant forget Chicago either,Really nice Downtown & Historic Pizza culture

When we say L.A we should be talking about L.A county as well and if that's the case than L.A is #1 easy just off how much larger it is than everywhere else.

Santa Monica/West Hollywood/Beverly Hills are right in the middle of L.A city limits anyway so might as well define L.A as a county because most people tour the county when they visit anyway.

LA offers every type of cultural activity that DC does, although DC has more variety. LA has a wealth of outdoor activities the DC can't begin to touch, as well as truly unique attractions, like La Brea tar pits. LA is on an entirely different level when it comes to dining, shopping and nightlife, and because LA is quicker to adopt trends you'll find activities that don't reach DC for another year or so (think the now-ubiquitous pole-dancing classes and Bikram Yoga).

DC definitely has more of a certain type of attraction, but LA has a much larger variety.

You missed the point where I wrote "now ubiquitous". Did those things exist in DC 15 years ago? They did in LA.

Something is seriously wrong with how posters view L.A on here.First it was Pittsburgh being more urban and now it's small D.C having more to do than L.A.
Los Angeles is clearly the most hated on here by far !

Now maybe in a denser area D.C has tons of historic things to do because that's the nation's capital of course. But what about fun things for kids ?
What's the entertainment like ? What are must see things to see & do besides the obvious ?

And please let's not turn this into another city vs LA thread

L.A is the only other Megatron besides New York in this country so i understand the constant conflicts against it.

Just on Sq miles alone,Los Angeles is bigger than most major cities including New York itself and if going by L.A county it's not even close.

There's the Queen Mary in Long Beach
Catalina Island off the coast is LA county
Beverly Hills/Santa Monica are adjacent to LA city but still fall under LA county
There's 24 hr tapings of your favorite t.v shows.
Shows that you think is set in NYC is actually filmed in Los Angeles
Plus DTLA is nothing how it was 15 years ago
LA live,Broadway,Grand Central Market,Target, etc
No need to even name the beaches and theme parks but the media portrays Los Angeles as this fantasy land to outsiders where they think everything is Hollywood and Baywatch lol.Thats about 2 percent of the city if we're being honest.Yes all the celebs live here and only NYC can rival that same type of hype and excitement but it's clearly about 1000 things to do besides all the award shows and touring Hollywood !

But just based on history, i think places like China & Africa are a must see in someone's lifetime.

Africa has large urban cities that the media doesnt show on television.

Aside from the ocean what exactly does LA have that DC "can't even touch". You can hike in DC, You can go kayaaking/paddleboarding and there are a lot of trials for hikers, bikers, and joggers. Not not mention you have great falls, the Chesapeake bay, and the Appalachian mountains all within a short drive from the metro.

The La brea tar pits are mehhh, DC has a lot of unique attractions too...
Nightlife- LA isn't even a top 5 city when it comes to nightlife. DC has good nightlife alongside having a great brunch and day drinking scene.
DC has Michelin starred restaurants whereas LA doesn't.
So I'm not sure how you came to the conclusion that LA is on an "entirely different level" than DC when it comes to these topics.

DC has 5,000 ft mountain peaks in its backyard? news to me. You can make snowboarding a day trip.
