Phoenix MSA versus San Jose MSA

Compare the two MSAs (meaning metropolitan statistical areas) in the following list of things;

- Location

- Climate

- Topography

- Economy

- Public education (K-12) and higher education

- Infrastructure (roads, trains, sidewalks)

- Airport

- Urban offerings

- Amenities

- Diversity

- Culinary scene

- Neighborhoods and suburbs

- Entertainment (nightlife, themeparks, waterparks, so on)

- Cultural institutions and performing arts

- City parks, public spaces, and greenbelts

- Standard of living (low crime, high pay, abundance of housing options)

Which one would be the preferred choice?

These two places have little in common in many metrics. If I had a ton of money, San Jose would be my choice. But, then again, if I had a ton of money, I could live in Phoenix and have a vacation home elsewhere to escape the Summer heat.

I live in Phoenix and I do like it here...But honestly I think that if I could actually afford to live in San Jose I would like that much better. But I can't afford it so here I'll stay in PHX lol.

San Jose got this one over Phoenix: vibrant and active downtown, more cool neighborhoods, more diversity, better job market and better weather
