My comparison:

Weather-Both have very high humidity, but San Antonio has slightly hotter summers. Both have relatively milder winters. Memphis just barely wins here.
Crime rate-Both are very dangerous, but I would say that San Antonio wins here just because Wikipedia doesn't state it as being one of the most dangerous places to live in (while it does for Memphis).
Cost of living-Both are very affordable right now, but San Antonio seems to be just slightly cheaper right now.
Job situation-San Antonio has a lower unemployment rate, and you could get a bit more bang for your buck there then you could in Memphis on average. San Antonio wins here as well.
Entertainment-Memphis wins if you're looking for some good live music, just as San Antonio wins if you're looking for outdoor entertainment. I view this one as a tie.
Transit-Memphis wins here with no problem. San Antonio's is a complete joke for a city that has over one million people living in it.
Downtowns-Memphis wins again without any problem. I love the music scene there, and there is just a lot more to do there than in downtown San Antonio. San Antonio's downtown isn't lackluster, however.
Dining-Memphis for barbeque, and San Antonio if you're looking for a diverse selection. San Antonio wins here.
Education-I lived in San Antonio throughout my elementary school years, so I could say that the educational system was fairly good. As for Memphis, it seems to be fairly decent from what I've heard. If we are talking about colleges though, then San Antonio wins.
Airports-Memphis wins. The Memphis airport felt so much larger than the San Antonio airport.
Scenery: San Antonio wins.

Overall: I was born in San Antonio, but personally would prefer living in Memphis.

Never Memphis. Nothing to do and very high crime.

I have lived in Memphis and visit there quite often. Its been almost 10 years since visiting San Antonio but I have not experienced living there.

I wish Memphis well and wish things where different for that city. With that being written, I hate Memphis. Everytime I visit the area, I leave saying I am glad I don't live there. The people seem lazy amd mean. They don't like "northerners". I didn't ever get that feel in San Antonio. From what I understand San Antonio has outgrown Memphis teir so this may not be a fair comparison.

San Antonio only because of the location.

Other than that, I'd rather live in Memphis.

San Antonio is a bigger, nicer city with a lot more to do and a lot cool places nearby for day trips.

Not all people in Memphis. Most are actually quite friendly. I know that's not a high opinion on here, but I've been to many cities and know better.
