Couldn't pay me enough to leave NYC for anywhere else in the US, especially not the Midwest where I'm from, but you could if it were in Asia. Sadly, Asia pays less than it does in the US for me, so looks like I'm staying put.

No, I could never live in Midwest because the harsh winters would be miserable for me. The winters where I live now are milder on average compared to those in the Midwest and I still have a hard time with them. Its less the temperature and more the dead dreary darkness of winter that bothers me. I hope to move to either Arizona, Texas or Florida as soon as I'm able.

It's 85 right now in Chicago....you can check it out on Google, if you like. Winters are not as terrible as everyone who doesn't live in the upper half of the country like to allude to. January and part of February are often cold, and you can get an occasional dump of snow...otherwise, exaggerations abound. As I said, it's 85 right now..this is one of those "cold" months everyone likes to throw out there, as their reason for not living in the Great Lakes area.

Why would today's weather matter to the person's complaint about Chicago's winters? Winter doesn't start for another three months,

Evidently, you haven't read the many numerous posts, that indicate the Great Lakes states have 6 months of cold weather. Look around on this site...that statement is there, by numerous posters, numerous times.

Tom Lennox, this month is probably included in your "most of the year" statement about dreary weather. It's 85 in Chicago today, and has been at or around 80 for a while, now. Your statement is way off base, and when you have to exaggerate something to make your point seem more valid...well, that's not cool. You are certainly entitled to live wherever you want, but don't fabricate things, because you feel you need validation.

No, I have read those posts. I just do not see the logic in making the argument you did in a post quoting an individual, and only that individual, who has never made one of those posts.

It's not comparable - we got some consistently warm September weather right now in Denver. It was 76 degrees at 7:30pm. It's not going to last, probably hit Chicago (aka: "Chi-raq") pretty quick.

You're missing my point. September is not a cold month in Chicago, nor is October. October gets cool, but it's certainly not winter. Exaggeration abounds.

You mean, the "depressing, cold, dreary weather most of the year", doesn't count as one of "those" posts? Lol, that's interesting, I guess.
