Los Angles above San Francisco? Not in a million years. Switch those two and your pretty much right on the money

San Francisco is not as populous, wealthy, influential, global, or popular (in terms of visitors) as Los Angeles.

Outside of financial & tech influence, there is no metric that favors San Francisco.

I forgot LV so added it.

It's a globally-known destination, but it also punches way below its weight in basically all other regards.

Phoenix has a larger CSA, but its economy is very small and low-wage, and its downtown is more like Bellevue's than Seattle's.

How? Everyone knows that LA is the indisputable #2 city in the country, therefore it's the #1 in the West.

Vancouver CMA
GDP: $92.598 Billion
Population: 2,548,700
Per Capita GDP: $36,341

I took the 2014 GDP and increased it by its annualized growth rate twice, then converted the sum to the 12/31/16 CAD to USD exchange rate.

Albuquerque is joined with Santa Fe in a CSA.

Just the two metros together have a combined GDP of $50,370,000,000

Santa Fe has a slightly higher GDP per capita than Albuquerque ($47,987). Los Alamos, which is very wealthy, and also included in the CSA, I'm sure also has a higher GDP per capita than Albuquerque. Los Alamos probably adds about another 871 million dollars to the GDP of the CSA (at an estimated per capita rate of about $48,000, though I could see it being quite a bit more than that). The rest of the counties in the CSA are poorer and more rural, so they probably have a lower GDP per capita than Albuquerque and the state as a whole (probably around $37,000 per capita). I'd estimate them adding about another 3.5 billion dollars to the GDP of the CSA with that rate.

That brings the total for the Albuquerque-Santa Fe-Las Vegas CSA to about $54.8 billion, with a per capita rate of about $46,700

Albuquerque and Santa Fe MSAs - $50,370,000,000
Los Alamos County - $871,056,000
Rio Arriba, San Miguel, Cibola counties - $3,525,619,000

CSA total GDP - $54,766,675,000

CSA total population - 1,171,991

CSA GDP per capita - $46,730
