More urban in terms of your typical commercial and residential streetscapes: Los Angeles proper or Long Beach? I feel like they have more in common than not...

Definitely Los Angeles.

What immediately comes to mind is the Mid-Wilshire area, around Koreatown.

The urban parts of LA are much more urban and much bigger than the urban parts of Long Beach. But then again the average urbanity of Long Beach is more urban than the SF Valley.

Still it has to be LA. Long Beach is similar to adjacent Wilmington, which is part of LA but not especially urban by LA standards.
