That gives New York a current rate of 2.18 per 100,000. Compare this to Los Angeles, which as of August 11 had 163/4.08, and Chicago, which had 362/13.33 as of August 26....

Charlotte is at 38/4.42...

Because no one will talk and there's a huge culture of keeping quiet, even people who get shot will refuse to say who tried to shoot and kill them. Huge numbers of them.

The guns mostly come from Indiana and Missouri where apparently they can very easily be obtained. Indiana literally borders the south side of Chicago.

Partly because some officials may not care to investigate further and also because of "street justice". A lot of unsolved murders are because the murderers themselves got hit with retaliation.

Read Jill Leovy's book Ghettoside for great insight into all of this, both the heartbreaking problems and how to overcome them.

SLMPD's updated pdf has the same numbers as last week for St Louis... If we truly got a week with no new homicides and the 117 holds that'll be the first real sign of a break from the last 3 years of 130+ by this time.

St Louis is only dangerous if you are black it seems... Just like Chicago... And Milwaukee, Memphis, New Orleans...

Cleveland has had 5 in the past 5 days (atleast another 12-15 shot in that span) to put it to 84. Was at 80 at the same point last year.

To be more precise, If your involved in shady activities or serious vendettas. Outside of those prime scenarios it's not that dangerous for a regular black person.

Also, let's not forget that other ethnicities get killed in those cities too.

Peace....
