What city tries to force a rivalry with another city, while the other city doesn't care?

The one that jumps out is San Francisco's obsession with Los Angeles.

I'm originally from Oregon and Portland had a major superiority complex with Seattle, despite Seattle being the better city IMO.

My first thought was Cleveland and how it has a bug up its backside about Pittsburgh and to a lesser extent Columbus. Both of which couldn't care less.

Not totally sure on this one, but how about Austin with Dallas and/or Houston?

Yes, and I’d also add in Houston and Fort Worth’s “rivalry” with Dallas, while Dallas couldn’t care less.

St Petersburg vs Tampa

Nashville vs Memphis (Memphis is poorer, slower, and more crime ridden, but most residents there couldn’t care less about Nashville thinking they’re better)

Charlotte’s obsession with Atlanta

San Diego (we’re NOT LA!) vs Los Angeles

SF with LA

Chicago with NYC

Detroit with Chicago

I'm sure there are others.

Baltimore with DC. Baltimore does everything it can to distance itself from DC and maintain its identity while DC doesn't even acknowledge Bmores existence.

I agree that Dallas doesn't see Fort Worth as a rival, but the rivalry between Houston and Dallas/DFW is a thing acknowledged on both sides, it just isn't a nasty rivalry.

I'd say that, especially on CD but also in real life, Atlanta seems to have some rivalry going on with Houston and DFW, but neither of those consider Atlanta to be on the same level.

Toronto vs. Chicago
Memphis vs. Nashville: One sided as Nashville is not in the same tier.
San Francisco vs. Los Angeles: Michael Jackson eating popcorn epic
Cleveland vs. every major city in the Midwest plus Pittsburgh and Buffalo: The Cleveland posters fight hard for their city.
Miami vs. Atlanta
Tampa vs. Orlando
Houston vs. Dallas: One sided and we all know which side.
