What is the equivalent of Jackson Heights or Edison in the Toronto area?

I did put foreign born Indian+Bangladeshi+Sri Lankan+Pakistani in my post by CSA - top 10 at least. It was NYC then Bay Area then DC then Chicago then LA. Not sure how to get the American born South Asian numbers..

The Toronto posters can answer this better than me, but if I had to take a guess:

For an urban neighborhood like Jackson Heights, probably Etobiocke or Scarborough. For a suburban area like Edison, probably Brampton (45% South Asian, or over 250,000 people).

Canada is a Commonwealth country, and so are all the South Asian countries. This is relevant because it means that they have an easier time immigrating to Canada than the US. I used to work for the DHS, and during that time, we were trying to urge Canada to make their immigration policy tighter to prevent "terrorists" from having easier access to the United States. Some behind the doors stuff.

Don't sweat it. The American Factfinder website is hard to use.

The Bay Area is definitely the 2nd largest hub of Indians in the US, with approximately 400,000.

SF also nonstop flights to Mumbai and Delhi.

I'm just wondering because Jackson Heights contains many city blocks packed with desi restaurants, grocery stores, jewelry and clothing stores.

I didn't know if Toronto had an area like that.

Toronto's urban Little India commercial neighbourhood is along Gerrard Street in the East end of the old city, however the neighbourhood itself isn't heavily populated by South Asians. The majority South Asian areas in the boroughs of Etobicoke (Rexdale) and Scarborough and in the neighbouring cities of Brampton and Mississauga are more suburban in built form but are full of South Asian businesses that serve the local population.

Hah - it's not that. I know how to use it well. For some reason I didn't think they had the data, but now I remember that they do.

The following data is for "Asian Alone" population and does not include mixtures (i.e. Italian and Indian would not register anywhere here and neither would Indian and Pakistani. The data for that as far as I've seen does not go to that level of detail for "2 or more groups" for anything).

^ What table is this data from? I just looked at the 5 year ACS for 2016 for table B02018, which is Asian alone or in combination and the SF-SJ CSA has 370,487...not 400,617. Not that it would knock it from its place, but that's off by quite a few people.
