Ann Arbor: Most sophisticated/most educated, best public transportation, closest to a major metro area (Detroit), most extreme weather (lots of snow), probably the most expensive for rentals

Evansville: Cheapest, located on a major river

Reno: Largest option, most "fun" (casinos, entertainment), most geographically isolated

I'll definitely give you the fun bit, but I'd question if Reno is actually the largest option given Ann Arbor's Detroit proximity. It's not just close to Detroit's metro, it's more or less a part of it. U of M has enough economic pull to keep it statistically separate from Detroit, but that's about where the separation ends.
