Which of these cities in the poll has the best neighborhood(s) with the following characteristics:

*Walkable, bike-friendly, overall pedestrian friendly
*Vibrant and you want to be there, or hang out there--exciting and interesting things going on

Ehh. All of them either excel at one and are mediocre at the other. They all have their strong and weak points in your criteria. I guess the one's that check off the most things on your list would be Atlanta, New Orleans, Charlotte and Miami, and any other city with good bones, a good economy and gentrification. "Trendy" always means gentrification. Let's be honest.

Tops are Nashville, Atlanta, Miami, Charlotte and to a lesser extent Richmond and maybe Louisville. Have not visited Birmingham in a while.
