For a few personal reasons, these 2 different cities have a certain connection to my life. I don't live in either, but have spent time in both multiple times.
Which city would you rather live, based on the usual life-experience criterion? Maybe no references to political differences? Yes they are in different countries

Vancouver. As things are, I would seriously consider it right now.
I like Dallas but doubt I would possibly live there unless I had a major and unforeseen life change.
Only thing I prefer for Vancouver is its weather, scenery, crime, and proximity to East Asia. I prefer Dallas/Dallas-Fort Worth for diversity, dining and shopping, larger population, cost of living, economy overall, location (both inland and to the East Coast), and country.
Vancouver. Dense, walkable, urban, beautiful scenary, fantastic downtown, compact, great urban parks, fantastic nightlife, less crime, less guns, better weather, great skiing, the Vancouver International Jazz Festival held every year is a blast. Not so big and sprawly like Dallas. Plus the summers in Dallas are unbearable.

Voted Dallas, but only due to better winters. Vancouver is the better city, and has better summers than Dallas, but I can't do PNW late Fall thru early Spring
Vancouver is a better city. However Vancouver like most of the west coast is very expensive. I mean very!
Dallas wins for strategic placement for travel being smack dab in the middle of the country. Also for pool season and the amount of Sunshine days, as seasonal depression is definitely a thing in Vancouver. Pools in Vancouver I imagine never get warm enough to swim in. However, stellar scenery, access to amazing mountains, water and ski resorts make Vancouver an enviable place.. Also Dallas is going to win for diversity and food options. Vancouver struck me as a very sterile place, ultra gorgeous but sterile. Stanley park is spectacular I admit.
