Yeah the comments by that particular poster about other cities compared to Nashville are always rather juvenile. Every city has its boosters but rabid boosterism combined with putdowns of other places undetached from reality will always derail threads.

Don't pay him any attention. He just tries to start stuff. Amazon is a big deal for Nashville, but not in the way some are trying to make it. There have and will be more companies making announcements, Amazon is just one part of the big picture.

This will definitely be a catalyst in the already crazy fast growth of LIC. I can see it becoming like the DUMBO of Queens

What is a "DUMBO" in this context?

It's a former warehouse(?) area just east of the Brooklyn Bridge that's now a hot urban district.

That entire complex is a behemouth. I see why there is such immense disappointment by cities that couldn't land Amazon.

Almost every city that didn't win Amazon has projects in progress that are as impressive or more so than that.

Almost glad Suffolk downs didn't get this, so now the development can see 10,000 new housing units. Since the Nov announcement, 3 major companies have announced relocation of HQ here, Wayfair announced a major expansion and Amazon/Verizon/Google/Boeing&Apple&CitiGroup all leased atleast 75% of a major building U/C. HQ2 would have done more harm then good here. Also Miami has that Skyrise Miami, so that comment really doesnt hold true.

Nashville Im glad to see get this, because its such a dynamic, growing city with a great downtown and nightlife scene. Im rooting for more companies to get pulled here because its such an awesome city.
I'm glad too. Nashville will have a very busy 2019. The city just added three non-stop flights to Providence, Portland, and Los Angeles. Amazon executives call Nashville the perfect fit. They like how Nashville stands out from the pack.
